Axiom was engaged by a large Australian Government entity to perform a Quality Assurance role in relation to the transition of their IT main processing centre.
This engagement involved:
- The development of a Quality Assurance Framework which outlined the key assurance activities for each phase of the transition i.e. Data Centre Build, Infrastructure Build, and Application Verification. A risk based approach was undertaken to provide focus on key transition risk elements.
- Identification of formal acceptance criteria for each service and system transitioned.
- Formal quality assurance over data centre build, internet gateway readiness, IT security planning/readiness, building of systems, review of supporting tools and resources, mainframe applications testing, midrange applications testing, applications security, data integrity and controls over decommissioning the old site.
- Review of DRP and BCP readiness in relation to the transition to a new provider and the new data centre.
